Below is an actual example. This is for roofing companies, so imagine you have hail damage from a recent storm and do a search for “roofing companies Minneapolis”. The results are below. Of these listings, which one would you choose to checkout first? There may be more than one good option, but if you were to choose only one to explore further, which one would you choose?

If you chose Roofing Company D, then you were similar to most people. Why is that? Most people will look first at overall review score, and second at the total number of reviews. So, in our example, Company B had a average score of 5 stars. But, they only had 2 reviews. That could have been their mom and dad.

Company D not only had nearly 3 times as many reviews as the next highest reviewed company, but they had nearly a perfect rating of 4.8 stars. This tells consumers that many people have chosen Company D, and almost all of them gave them a perfect score when leaving a review.
